Animating Smooth Movements Video Tutorial #16388
"Animating Smooth Movements"
If you have been looking for a way to animate your character's movement smoothly, then this tutorial is exactly what you need!
You will be shown how to organize your character's symbols on different layers so that they are ready for a combination of "motion tweening" and traditional animation techniques to get the smooth and polished movement you want. You'll be shown 3 different ways to create smooth animation:
Draw "speedlines" for a fast, blurred movement
Create an inbetween pose, drawn on an arc.
Duplicate body parts symbols with an Alpha transparency to create a fast, cartoony movement.
The principles and techniques used to animate the different arm movements in this tutorial apply to character movements of almost any type. The instruction you receive with this video tutorial is an incredibly valuable asset that will truly make your animations shine!
About the instructor:
The video tutorials are created by Ryan Simmons, who has been working in animation for 12 years at studios such as Warner Bros. and Dreamworks on numerous feature films. His Flash animation skills have won many awards for his short films and TV commercials. Ryan is the co-owner and art director of Cartoon Solutions.
